Linux leads the way in solid financial quarter
Novell has reported revenue of $231m (£117m) for the first quarter of 2008, up nine per cent from $218m (£110m) in the first quarter of 2007.
Profit for the quarter was $8m (£4.1m), compared to a loss of $21m (£10.6m) a year ago.
some $28m (£14.2m) of Novell’s revenue came from open source Linux products, with open platform solutions as a whole up 65 per cent year-over-year.
Identity and access management was up 15 per cent to $28m (£14.2m), with systems and resource management revenues reaching $37m (£18.8m), up five per cent year on year. Workgroup revenue remained flat at $90m (£45.6m).
