'Come and get us' – European Enterprises Send Clear Message to Mobile Operators on FMC Services

34% of enterprises consider mobile operators to be their “natural choice” when it comes to FMC implementation

Hall 2, Level 1, Stand C69, Mobile World Congress, Barcelona – An independent survey by Tango Networks of 300 European enterprises, investigating enterprise attitudes towards fixed mobile convergence, has revealed some surprising findings. Despite operators showing little interest in the enterprise market over the last few years, 34% of enterprises consider mobile operators to be their “natural choice” when it comes to FMC implementation.

Conventional industry thinking suggests that the enterprise market opportunity has passed mobile operators by, with the fixed telecom equipment providers in pole position to capture FMC business. However, Tango Networks’ survey findings reveal that 52% of European enterprises believe mobile operators are capable of delivering an effective FMC solution; a further 31% are undecided. Only 17% of enterprises have written mobile operators off completely.

“This survey sends a clear message from the enterprise to mobile operators – when it comes to FMC, the door is wide open,” said Alastair Westgarth, CEO at Tango Networks. “But too often, operators are focused on services targeting the saturated consumer markets. Amazingly, only a tiny percentage of sessions at Mobile World Congress will focus on the enterprise.”

“A staggering 71% of European enterprises with more than 3,000 employees consider FMC valuable to their organisations. Around 41% of these larger organisations are either in the early stages or have yet to commence FMC adoption. This is a wonderful opportunity for mobile operators to capitalise on, focusing on their enterprise customers and significantly growing their enterprise revenue streams,” continued Westgarth.

Only 7% of enterprises felt that mobile operators lacked understanding of their needs and a mere 5% questioned their reputation in delivering FMC.

“Mobile operators are pushing at an open door when it comes to impacting the enterprise FMC market,” added Westgarth. “They are clearly recognised and respected as being key enterprise players. All they need now is an FMC technology offering such as the Tango Abrazo that brings all the functionality of enterprise PBXs to the mobile phone – a complete one-number, one-handset enterprise mobility solution.”

The Tango Networks Abrazo embraces both the enterprise voice network and the mobile operator network to deliver true, seamless fixed-mobile convergence. Because of its hybrid architecture, the Tango Abrazo benefits all of the key stakeholders in the mobile ecosystem: the end-user, the enterprise, and the mobile operator.
