UNITED KINGDOM — BMJ Group announced today that the company has entered into an agreement with Cerner Corporation to integrate its evidence-based medical information with a range of solutions offered by Cerner in the UK and internationally.
The first outcome of this collaboration will be the introduction of Order Entry sets for the hospital sector which brings together BMJ Group’s evidence-based research database, BMJ Clinical Evidence, with Cerner Millennium® software.
David Tovey, Editor of BMJ Clinical Evidence said:
“BMJ Clinical Evidence is widely used by healthcare professionals as a trusted evidence-based resource. Our partnership with Cerner is an important step towards supporting excellent care because it integrates evidence into the clinical journey, making it easier for clinicians and patients to make informed treatment decisions together.”
David Sides, managing director – Cerner Limited in the U.K., said:
“The Cerner Millennium architecture automates and unifies patient information and clinical content, improving the quality of patient care by giving hospital staff access to the latest clinical evidence, empirical data and best practice. Integrating BMJ’s Clinical Evidence database will provide a new resource for the thousands of clinicians using Cerner Millennium to have immediate access to the appropriate, evidence-based information right at the point of care.”
