AIRCOM’s ASSET Inspires Indonesia

AIRCOM International has signed a deal with XL, a leading Indonesian leading operator and a division of Telekom Malaysia, to supply its ASSET network optimisation tools throughout the region.

XL was the first the first private company to provide mobile telephony services in Indonesia and is presently the number three operator, serving more than 17 million customers in the region. ASSET is being used to address planning issues in their network to increase capacity and roll out nationwide 3G coverage.

ASSET will enable XL to accurately design, model and deliver planning services across combined 2G/3G coverage areas, lowering overall capital spend and equipment investment costs, through the more timely production of results and design communications. This gives XL the ability to maintain and publish network coverage results on a national level.

ASSET is already used by other Telekom Malaysia subsidiaries around South East Asia and as part of delivering the ASSET solution, AIRCOM also provided training courses to XL’s team of network operatives, ensuring they are able to fully maximise the full range of ASSET’s optimisation and planning features.

“After a thorough market evaluation of the different network optimisation products available, it became obvious that the ASSET tool was capable of supporting our critical operational and project data integrity needs.” said Sri Baskoro, Network Planning Developer Manager, XL. “ASSET by far exceeds the capabilities of our previous planning tools and AIRCOM’s complete solution for planning and optimising our network is helping us to reach our objective of becoming the number one network in Indonesia.”
