DilSeBol.com has tied up with IIT Bombay's Techfest 2008 organising committee to offer exclusive Techfest branded merchandise online. Techfest is the annual International, Science and Technology festival of IIT Bombay. From a fledgling event in 1998, today it has grown to be the largest festival of its kind in Asia.
Techfest enjoys a participation of about 30,000 students from over 1000 colleges across India and over 2000 faculty and corporate executives. DilSeBol.com is a Chennai based e-commerce start-up that was one of the first companies in India to offer on-demand customized merchandise to retail users, with no minimum order quantity restrictions.
In keeping with their innovative spirit and in a first of its kind move in India, DilSeBol.com will be offering Techfest event merchandise both at the venue (the way event merchanside marketing has always been done) and online, through their website. Online sale of the merchandise will commence on 10th Jan, 2008, about 2 weeks prior to the start of the event and will go on till 25th Feb, 2008, well after the event has been completed, so that those who couldn't pick up the merchandise at the venue do not miss out.
Suresh Subbian, CEO of DilSeBol.com, says "Online sale of event merhchandise reduces the overall cost for all invloved and eliminates the risk of carrying a huge inventory. Such an option offers a great benefit to the event organisers and is something that all event organisers will move towards sooner or later." In the highly competitive Indian e-commerce market place, such innovative tie-ups are likely to be a great driving force for companies like DilSeBol.com.
