UK Internet filtering market shake-up - 8e6 challenges status quo

Wick Hill HQ, Woking, Surrey - US company 8e6 Technologies, the leading independent provider of web filtering and insider threat management solutions, today announced it is expanding into the UK web filtering market with the appointment of security VAD (value added distributor) Wick Hill.

8e6 Technologies, a web filtering pioneer established for over twelve years, firmly believes it can offer the UK market a better and more cost-effective alternative to Websense, after Websense acquired SurfControl in October 2007.

SC Magazine tested 8e6’s R3000 Internet Filter in 2007 and awarded it the ‘Best Buy’, calling it ‘a superb product.’ It was given a five-star top rating in all the magazine’s categories including features, ease-of-use, performance and value for money, beating both Websense and SurfControl.
