ByBox, a provider of unattended delivery solutions, trumps competition in Deloitte's Fast 50 report
Consultancy firm Deloitte has published its list of the top 50 fastest growing technology firms in the UK, based on highest turnover growth.
Deloitte found that the average turnover growth across all the technology firms in the list was 13,400 percent. The firm taking the number one slot was ByBox, a company that offers "unattended delivery solutions". ByBox has grown by a staggering 15,272 percent on average since 2002, with revenues increasing from £119,000 in 2002 to more than £18m in 2006.
ByBox offers locker pickups and alternative delivery addresses for firms and consumers that want to get items delivered as quickly and securely as possible, but do not have the option of waiting in for a delivery. Deloitte described the vendor as "exploiting the flip-side of the digital revolution".
Simon Kerton-Jones, a partner at Deloitte's Technology, Media and Telecommunications division, said that successful e-commerce businesses were threatened by weaknesses in fulfilment. "For it to truly fulfill its potential and to realise its contribution to the economy, e-commerce requires the sort of sophisticated logistics that ByBox has had the vision to develop," he added.
In order to be considered for the Deloitte awards firms must have been in business for at least five years, be UK-owned with headquarters in the UK, and have revenues of at least £540,000.
