Interxion partners with Rock Solid Systems

Deal will see Galway-based VAR sell service provider's online backup services in Ireland

Storage VAR Rock Solid Systems has signed a reseller agreement with online backup vendor Interxion. It will see the VAR carry the service provider’s online backup and recovery services across Ireland.

Under the terms of the agreement, Galway-based Rock Solid Systems will become a Secure Data Service (SDS) reseller for Interxion.

Dermot Duignan, managing director of Rock Solid Systems, said: “Our partnership [with Interxion] will benefit our customers that are looking to implement a solution for distributed data backup protection with built-in security and compliance features.”

Interxion said its online data backup and restore SDS features a point and click configuration and the ability to backup file and mail applications. The vendor also claimed its SDS offers end-users a secure method for data backup and long-term storage.

Anthony Foy, group managing director of Interxion, said: “Rock Solid Systems has already shown unparalleled commitment to selling Interxion’s data backup and restore services. It has migrated more than 200 existing customers to our SDS platform and signed up 20 new ones in the first two months.

“It is fast becoming one of our most successful partners in Ireland.”

Last month, Interxion announced that it had begun a process to upgrade its London data centre power infrastructure by adding 13 megawatts of power grid capacity. The availability of the additional power is due to be completed by the end of November.

The vendor claimed that the adoption of new hardware technologies, which dramatically increase processing power and the number of CPUs per cabinet footprint, boosts power requirements by up to 20kW per cabinet footprint.
