Chip vendor 'officially' unveils mobile chips
Graphics chip vendor nVidia has introduced its Geforce Go 7900 GTX and Geforce Go 7900 GS, two new mobile GPUs based on its G71 silicon.
The firm has claimed that the new chips will allow gamers to run at a resolution of 1680x1050 and 1920x1200.
NVidia first showcased the chips in various machines back in Cebit in February, however the vendor has only just offically launched them.
Dell and Toshiba are the only manufacturers shipping those GPUs today while many will follow including ABS, CyberPower, Falcon Northwest, Gateway, Hypersonic, iBuyPower, Velocity Micro, Vicious PC, and Voodoo PC in North America, and AJP, Evesham, Gericom, Multirama, Plaisio, and XS2 in Europe.
The firm has claimed they will be the fastest mobile solution around however, rival ATI is already working on its own new high-end mobile chip.
