Morse signs Azul deal

Azul announces first UK reseller

Corporate VAR Morse has been appointed by Azul Systems as the vendor’s first UK channel partner.

The US vendor manufacturers network attached processing products designed to speed up machine-based applications, such as Java, Java 2 Enterprise Edition, and .NET platforms.

“It’s well known that many Java applications are not optimised and thus require a great deal of processing power,” said Paul McCarthy, managing director, technology and integration at Morse. “Azul provides a strongly differentiated platform from which we can design, build and support new architectures to address the needs of the market.

“Issues such as scalability, poor Service Level Agreements compliance and the escalating costs of delivering applications are consistently raised by many businesses. Azul’s technology provides the ability to address these problems at a lower cost point,” he added.

Syed Rizvi, managing director of Azul Systems UK, told CRN: “We have been selling direct in the UK, but now want to extend our reach in the market by working with specific channel partners. We would like to appoint similar partners to Morse, but we want quality not quantity.”

Rizvi added that Azul aims to maintain a mix of direct and indirect sales.

To date, Azul has had some success in the telco and financial services markets. Rizvi added that the firm is also seeing interest from central government.
