Highways Agency plan due today
Transport secretary Alistair Darling will today (Thursday) launch the new Highways Agency Information Strategy.
The agency is planning to make widespread use of technology to help ease congestion and smooth traffic flow.
The focus is expected to be on providing better information to drivers on the best route to take.
Last year, the agency announced a £490m, 10-year project to develop a national high-speed communications network.
