IT services company acquisition will bolster data centre expertise
Storage network equipment company Brocade is to acquire IT services firm Strategic Business Systems (SBS).
SBS specialises in data centre design, virtualisation and data migration, and has established expertise in IP-based storage and networking that Brocade - primarily a Fibre Channel company - does not.
SBS is estimated to have completed around 80 ebusiness and 60 corporate content management implementations worldwide since its launch in 2000, and employs several hundred consultants, mainly in the US.
The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
