Milan - Prysmian Cables & Systems, a world leading player in the energy and telecommunication cables market, will be playing a major role at next week's 5th Annual Conference of the FTTH Council Europe to be held in Paris on February 27th & 28th.
As a main sponsor of the event, Prysmian will be exhibiting the latest additions to its growing FTTH product portfolio including VertiCasa, its innovative cable solution for providing fibre connections to customers in high rise buildings and multi dwelling units (MDUs). Other products on display will include the Quickdraw pre-connectorized system and HEADROW - the unique micro trench cable solution. In addition Prysmian will contribute to the conference proceedings with a paper providing an overview of the passive cable & connectivity technologies available in today's growing FTTH marketplace, with a particular emphasis on MDU applications.
"FTTH Council Europe continues to play an important role in driving the uptake of optical technology in access networks in Europe,” commented Giovanni Battista Scotti, director of Prysmian's global telecom cable and fibre optic business.
"We are delighted to provide our ongoing support to their efforts in championing this technology and believe that 2008 will see further significant progress being made in FTTH deployment in Europe."
More than 1000 people attended last year’s event in Barcelona and an even greater number are expected to attend this year’s conference. The forum has now become a key event in the European telecoms calendar with its prime focus being on the latest trends and developments in FTTH (fibre to the home) within the European telecoms sector.
