Barcelona — The GSM Association has announced that Aepona has won the coveted GSMA award for Best Service Delivery Platform in its annual Global Mobile Awards. The awards are held each year at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, the global mobile industry’s premier annual event.
Aepona is a leading supplier of software products and solutions to telecommunications operators globally. The company’s Telecom Web Services Platform received the Best Service Delivery Platform award against competition from a diverse and global range of vendors. The platform, which allows Telcos to collaborate more closely with IT and Web developers to enable a vast range of new services, has been deployed with leading operators such as Sprint and TELUS in North America.
“We are delighted to have won this prestigious award“, said Michael Crossey, Aepona’s Vice President of Marketing. “The Telecom Web Services Platform transforms the traditional Telco business model, empowering them to fully participate in the new, collaborative world of Web 2.0 and Enterprise 2.0 services. With our solution, Telcos can form deeper, more profitable relationships with their Enterprise customers and stake a claim in the burgeoning market for Web 2.0 consumer services”.
Aepona’s solution allows Telcos to securely publish their network capabilities (communications, information, intelligence) to the outside world as standards-based Web Services. This enables thousands of 3rd parties to telecom-enable both Enterprise business processes and web-based consumer services, providing Telcos with new revenue sources from existing assets as well as many new routes to market.
Commenting on Aepona’s solution, the judging panel said: “At last application developers can go mobile without the nightmares. The Aepona Web Services Platform joins together developers and Telcos in one easy move.”
Rob Conway, CEO of the GSMA Association, added: “Each year as the influence of mobile communications spreads further to enhance more and more aspects of people’s lives, the scope of the Awards become greater, and the competition becomes more intense as a result. Because the mobile world is such an amazing universe of opportunities, its gravitational forces are pulling other industries into its realm—internet, finance, advertising, music and film
Aepona is exhibiting at the Mobile World Congress, February 11-14 at the Fira de Barcelona, in Barcelona, Spain. We welcome visitors to our stand, 2B01 in Hall 2. To arrange a meeting during the conference, please contact marketing@aepona.com.
