The Bizmo enables consumers to earn money by either selling their own or recommending other digital content
London, UK – Today TheBizmo announced its partnership with Ariadne Capital, the London-based investment and advisory firm to bring its revolutionary new personal online music store into the UK market. TheBizmo turns the consumer into the retailer enabling them to earn money by either selling their own - or recommending other people’s - digital content – even the music of their favourite artistes. This digital content may be: Music, Video, Animations, Anime, Pictures, Podcasts, Videocasts and Vlogs.
Created by GrooveMobile developers, TheBizmo is the `Music Industry in a Box` - complete with turnkey store, mobile services, its own tv channel and viral marketing tools.
TheBizmo offers users the opportunity to discover both user-generated and mainstream multimedia content; significant deals to be announced in early 2008. It also acts as a genuine (and free) marketing tool by empowering fans /peers to do their digital marketing and distribution for them. Users can also easily upload and sell their own digital content making TheBizmo the vehicle for Artists and their Fans to become Business Partners.
Bizmo secured the further investment from Northzone Ventures, East Coast Angels, and Burda Digital earlier this autumn.
“Ariadne signed up to help bring TheBizmo into the UK market due to our ten year relationship with Karl Christian Agerup, the founder of Northzone Ventures, a leading Nordic investment firm in high-growth start-ups. Northzone is a backer of TheBizmo,” said Julie Meyer, CEO of Ariadne Capital. “We believe that, in turning the consumer into the new retailer, TheBizmo is the biggest step change in music since iTunes which revolutionized music distribution earlier in the 21st century.”
Earlier this month, FeedMeMusic became the first Music Company to sell E-Tickets via TheBizmo. Gig goers can instantly buy tickets to FeedMeMusic nights by simply inputting their ticket requirements into the player, and receiving a text message as an e-ticket to their mobile phone and also as a regular ticket via email.
TheBizmo can be easily implemented into any digital space – MySpace, Facebook, personal blogs, and it instantly empowers artists, their fans and promoters to start selling digital content and gig tickets directly to their fans.
”Getting the right partnership deals done fast to extend TheBizmo’s impact on the market is critical. We were impressed with Ariadne’s track record of working with early stage, high-growth companies with global aspirations,” said David Gjester, CEO of TheBizmo. “Ariadne gets the entrepreneurial clockspeed required to win.”
