On December 31 last year, a California federal judge ruled that wireless chip maker Qualcomm must immediately stop selling 3G, WCDMA cellular chips, that infringed on Broadcom patents. The ruling affected only the US market with no effect on the international markets. Today Qualcomm announced that the new chipsets, designed to comply with the court’s ruling are now available and are expected to be in handsets before the end of March. Qualcomm’s attorneys are going through the company’s options for appeal.
