Sphinx bolsters Alcatel-Lucent team

Distributor signs two new recruits to strengthen relationship with networking vendor and win new business

Sphinx has taken on two new recruits to develop its Alcatel-Lucent distribution partnership and win new business for the firm.

Annette Reynolds has been appointed to head up the eight-person business unit and oversee the two firms' VAR recruitment drive. Reynolds' focus will primarily be on recruiting partners that have experience of targeting mid-sized companies with convergence solutions.

Before joining Sphinx, Reynolds worked at rival distributor Crane, where she was head of Crane's Affinity Telecom business.

Reynolds said: "My role will be to make it easier for both current and new partners to do business with Alcatel-Lucent, and help differentiate them from other convergence resellers through improved service delivery and support."

Mark Hatton, managing director of Sphinx, added: "Having worked in both distribution and direct sales, Reynolds is well-placed to meet our needs and grow our business, as well as understanding the reseller perspective, and how we can best engage with partners to hlep them succeed in the convergence marketplace."

Sphinx has also appointed Andy MacDonald to provide pre-sale support for the Alcatel-Lucent business unit. His role will be to provide partners with lead-generation assistance to help them meet their growth objectives.
