Distributor ditches sub-distribution in Ireland as it goes the whole hog in the Emerald Isle
As AV distributor Steljes substantially raised its investment stakes in the Irish market, it has announced plans to ditch sub-distribution and deal directly in a market it regards as increasingly important.
The Bagshot-based UK firm, and sole distributor of SMART interactive whiteboards, today announced it will end its sub-distribution deal with Fusion Technology and establish its own presence in the Irish market.
The Steljes Irish team will be headed by market development manager Greg Tierney, with Conor McGrogan as channel manager for Ireland. The team is currently recruiting new resellers that specialise in the Irish education market.
“We have been impressed by the opportunity the Irish market presents,” explained Mark Bird, group sales and business development director. “Ireland now needs significant investment in technology in education.”
Steljes and Smart Technologies have been involved in the education market with interactive whiteboards for 20 years. In addition to whiteboards, Steljes will also supply software for classroom control and management software, collaboration and interactive web conferencing software, and interactive response systems for real time class quizzes, revision polling and testing.
“Steljes believes technology is an integral part of any modern day education, so we continue to work with educators to develop solutions that enhance established teaching practices,” said Bird.
Steljes recently shipped its 250,000th Smart Board interactive whiteboard.
