This hack applies only to the Microsoft Office 2000.
In case you are experiencing a slow down on your Windows system it could be due to Office 2000. Office 2000 comes with a Find Fast Indexer that helps in increasing file search speed. This, however, may not be a good thing on large drives; the system may slow down when an index is being created or updated.
Use the following Registry edit to delay the indexing for a specified amount of time between index updates—which, in turn, will reduce heavy system activity and improve performance & speed.
