Microsoft drops price of CRM

Subscription prices for Dynamics CRM 4.0 software decreased by 40 per cent

Microsoft is reducing subscription prices for its Dynamics CRM 4.0 software by 40 per cent to attract hosting companies to offer the application as a web-based service.

At its Convergence event in Copenhagen last week, the firm said the price drop would help partners develop services around the software. New partners include UK-based Increase.

“Microsoft were late to the CRM marketplace, but they have learnt from other vendors and used experienced CRM developers to build a quality product,” said Karl Newman, service delivery director at Microsoft partner ConsultCRM.

“Version 4 continues to make CRM easy, with a clean user interface and tight links into Outlook, Word and Excel. The multi-tenancy architecture of version 4 will make it compelling for hosters to offer CRM, along with hosted Exchange and SharePoint,” added Newman.
