Mobile tool gives group calendar access

HandStep's TeamCalendar lets mobile workers see each other's diaries and schedule meetings

Danish mobility specialist HandStep has entered the UK market with a tool to let mobile workers see each other's diaries and schedule meetings

TeamCalendar, available immediately, runs on Windows Mobile handsets and brings to mobile workers the facilities available to desktop Windows users, according to HandStep.

"Clients said they have problems while on the move if they need to book a meeting. It involves lots of calls and emails," said Anders Heick, HandStep chief technology officer.

TeamCalendar's Smart Planning tool checks colleagues’ Outlook calendars for availability before suggesting the best time slot for a meeting. It then sends out invites and updates the sender's own diary. Users can also manually check colleagues' calendars.

The TeamCalendar server links to Microsoft Exchange and costs around £2,500, with client licences around £50 per seat. A hosted version is also available.
