Google has found a neat way of getting more users for its Talk Messenger by integrating Google Talk with Orkut. Now users can view on Orkut who is online and start chatting with them right away... no need of the tedious scrap chat anymore.
If your friends are online and using Google Talk, you'll see a brightly-colored ball by their name. Green means they're available; orange means they're away from their computer; and red means they're busy. But no matter which color, if you see that ball, it means you can chat with or call your friends in just a couple of clicks.
You can find some orkut features in Google Talk too. In addition to chatting, calling, and sending files to your Google Talk buddies, you can also scrap them, receive instant notice when others scrap you, and quickly jump to any of their orkut profiles.
In order to start using the integrated versions just sign into your Orkut account and you will get the following screen on your home page.
If you have not yet got the above message on your home page then hang on and wait until Google sends you the invite.
Once you click Start here » you will be shown the following page
Select if you want to automatically include all your orkut friends in Google Talk or you would prefer to do it manually and click Download Google Talk to download the latest version of Google Talk with Orkut integration and voila - you're done!
