Managing director to head up managed services push

NextiraOne has appointed Steven Skakel as its UK managing director to spearhead the integrator’s push in IP applications and managed services.

Skakel was previously sales director at network service provider GFI Informatics, which was acquired by NextiraOne in October last year. He replaces Simon Gibbs, who NextiraOne claimed is leaving to “pursue a career outside the communications industry”.

Skakel told CRN: “I’m familiar with the networking and integration market from my time at GFI, and I want to continue NextiraOne’s strong growth in the UK. The world of IP communications is expanding. Our convergence business is growing by 100 per cent a year.”

Skakel said NextiraOne plans to expand in IP applications and managed services, with security applications wrapped around them.
