Computers Unlimited appointed as second distributor

Miglia Technology, a manufacturer of TV, video, audio and storage products for Macs and Windows, has appointed Computers Unlimited (CU) as its second UK distributor.

Simon Ellson, chief executive of Miglia, told CRN: “Channel Dynamics was our principal distributor, but we reached a point where we had to broaden our reach. We used to focus on the semi-professional space, but now the bulk of our business is consumer products. Our first love has always been the Mac, and because CU is the big gun in Mac distribution, it was an obvious choice.”

Miglia has an online store, but according to the firm, it is used only by countries “where [Miglia has] no distribution coverage”.

Ellson added: “We have always been a channel-friendly firm. We have two distributors in the UK and France, but only one in Italy, Spain, Norway and Portugal. We’d like to have two for each country by 2007.”

Simon Harris, business manager at CU, said: “We are pleased to add Miglia’s range of products to our portfolio. It will fit perfectly into two of our focus markets: digital home and Apple. We have had some major wins and extensive revenue growth, particularly in the digital home area, which is a major focus for Miglia.”
