Infamous hacker due to speak at London's IT security show
Gary McKinnon, the UK hacker who broke into US security systems, is to speak on the Infosecurity Europe hacking panel late this month.
McKinnon was indicted in 2002 for compromising computers at the US Department of Defense, in what he claims was a search for information about UFOs. Reports today suggest he fears being interned in the notorious Guantanamo Bay.
He is scheduled to appear on a 27 April panel that will be chaired by Robert Schifreen, the hacker-turned-author who broke into Prince Philip’s bank account and whose trial lead to the drawing up of the Computer Misuse Act.
Infosec will run from 25-27 April in London’s Olympia.
