Education VARs could benefit from device that standardises whiteboard software

Education VARs could benefit from a device from Hitachi that enables schools to standardise the software they use in classes across every interactive whiteboard (IWB), regardless of the board’s manufacturer.

The Chameleon licence allows users to run Hitachi annotation software across all known brands of IWB.

Alex Goudge, marketing manager at Hitachi Interactive Media Solutions, said: “Most schools have more than one brand of IWB. This means they have to master each board’s different software. We have introduced the Chameleon licence as a solution to this problem.”

Sue Tibbs, IT network manager at Cedars Upper School in Leighton Buzzard, said: “We use four Hitachi boards and five from other manufacturers. We have different software running on each one. The Chameleon licence has enabled us to run our Hitachi software across all boards. This makes file sharing a lot easier.”

Chameleon is available to resellers through Hitachi’s two UK distributors: Medium UK and Midwich.

Natasha Oakley, marketing manager at Medium UK, said: “The Chameleon licence offers an opportunity for VARs to introduce Hitachi’s Cambridge software into educational establishments using various manufactured whiteboards.”
