VAR makes acquisition to get entry to Scottish market
UK reseller Esteem Systems has acquired Scottish-based Sun VAR Access Computing.
Esteem said it will now be able to offer its Citrix and Microsoft technology to the Scottish market. Access will now trade under the Esteem brand, and John Livingstone, founder and previously managing director of Access Computing will now retire from the business.
Joe Connolly, chief executive of Esteem, said: “With this acquisition, we are able to build on Access’ excellent reputation by offering enhanced services and solutions to customers in the Scottish market. It will also bring new opportunities to employees.”
In late 2004, Esteem completed a management buy out and outlined a strategy to expand services to customers via acquisitions to complement the existing business. This is Esteem’s first acquisition since that time.
