More than 11m citizens used local government sites in one month this year
The number of people using local government websites rose by 40 per cent in the last year, according to a survey by user group Socitm.
And fifteen per cent of the population – more than 11 million citizens – visited council sites in February this year, says the Socitm Insight report based on more than 7500 responses.
The government plans to launch a national advertising campaign next month to promote the take-up of online services.
