Flat-screen distributor creates new division
Flat-screen distributor Trident has established a new division to target the hotel and hospitality sector.
Julian Arnold, business manager of Trident’s new Hotels and Hospitality Sector, told CRN: “About two years ago we decided to enter the hotel and hospitality sector. We have now formalised that decision with this dedicated division. It is the first time Trident has looked at a specific vertical. The market is changing and we can no longer wait for people to knock on our door.”
Trident offers end-to-end project management, back-office systems, installation, maintenance and financing of in-room entertainment packages, and digital signage solutions.
“We are a system integrator to a degree, but we also work with customers that are system integrators. We tend to use our own people for smaller projects, and use our customers for larger projects,” Arnold added.
Ben Leet, senior consultant at analyst Decision Tree Consulting, said: “It’s great to finally see a company investing and taking its products to the market. The audiovisual industry has needed to do this for some time, particularly in digital signage. It will be interesting to see if Trident works with the leading hotel digital signage content provider, Quadriga, or if it competes with it.”
