The UK's leading grocer plans to compete with established providers in mobile telecoms
According to a report in The Times, supermarket giant Tesco is planning to launch its own-branded mobile phone service.
The company already offers a mobile pay-as-you go service and fixed line services, but Andy Dewhurst, head of the firm’s telecoms division, told the newspaper that the company is now planning a contract mobile phone that will carry the Tesco brand.
Dewhurst said that Tesco would emphasise the simplicity of its offer and transparency of its pricing to tempt users away from more established providers.
