Leicestershire-based distributor to auction off more than £250,000 worth of computer equipment

More than £250,000 worth of computer equipment will be auctioned this week, after distributor Nexpress recently went into administration.

The Leicestershire-based distributor went into administration soon after losing contracts with Sun and Hewlett-Packard (CRN, 19 December).

Mike Hanson, partner in charge at auction organiser King Sturge, told CRN: “The sale will be of the remaining balance of stock left at the premises. We are expecting 60 to 70 buyers to turn up, and we expect to sell all of the outstanding stock.”

Chris Gant, business development director at former Nexpress VAR partner Powercore International, said: “Anything that means those further down the chain get some of their money back is a good thing, but we are not holding our breath.”
