Distributor has three levels of resellers for PolyVision’s new virtual flipchart system
Maverick has opened a Thunder showroom at its headquarters in Reading, and is looking for a select number of VARs to sell the new PolyVision virtual flipchart system.
Thunder is a series of large-format displays where content can be simultaneously shared over any network with other similarly-equipped rooms.
Jon Sidwick, managing director of Maverick, told CRN: “Thunder is a new opportunity for the channel. It will give resellers the ability to make margins of between £2,000 and £15,000 per system.”
The Thunder showroom consists of three projectors creating six images simultaneously, but a Thunder system can have up to eight projectors providing 16 images around a room.
As the sole UK distributor for Thunder, only authorised Maverick VARs are able to sell the system.
“We have three levels of resellers for Thunder. Although we are an audiovisual [AV] distributor, I think a lot of IT VARs will be interested in selling Thunder,” Sidwick agreed.
Maverick is looking for six to nine top-tier VARs to be known as Regional Thunder Partners. They will receive full training in Atlanta from PolyVision and will each have their own Thunder showroom.
The middle tier will be known as Authorised Thunder Partners, of which Maverick wants between 20 and 30 VARs. The bottom tier will consist of Maverick Thunder Partners. They will be resellers that bring a referral to Maverick.
Videoconferencing VAR QuestMark is the first VAR to be signed up by Maverick. Sam McMaster, managing director of Questmark, said: “We’ve signed up as a top-tier partner and hope to have our showroom set up in the next four weeks.”
Mike Dunn, president of PolyVision’s global sales team, said: “We created Thunder following our observations about how people used flipcharts and videoconferencing. With Thunder, multiple pages can be displayed around a room and worked on at the same time.”
