Technology a key enabler of process improvements
More than 90 per cent of Gillette’s IT systems will be integrated with Procter & Gamble’s (P&G’s) within the next 15 months following their merger, according to the consumer product giant’s head of technology.
The merger is expected to produce efficiency savings for the combined business of approximately $1bn (£572m).
Filippo Passerini, P&G’s chief information officer, says IT will be a key enabler of such efficiencies, allowing the firm to reduce system and process replication in data centres.
‘Everything is going well and we are coming up with great ideas,’ said Passerini. ‘You have to be pragmatic and responsive, and create new business models.’
