Webroot Extends Momentum Of Global Channel Edge Partner Program With Addition Of SaaS Offering

Channel partners now have access to Webroot Email Security SaaS solutions to deliver multi-layered security approach

Bracknell, UK — Webroot, a leading security provider for the consumer, enterprise and SME markets, today unveiled the global expansion of its Channel Edge Partner Program that includes the integration of its award-winning Webroot AntiSpyware Corporate Edition with AntiVirus software and its new Software as a Service (SaaS) security solution Webroot E-Mail Security SaaS, while providing a number of new services including Web filtering, email archiving, business continuity and personal encryption for partners.

The Webroot Channel Edge Partner Program enables partners to deliver a multi-layered security approach providing better protection, lower total cost of ownership and better value than perimeter security appliances or software.

The expansion of the Webroot Channel Edge Partner Program to include the SaaS security offerings follows the recent launch of Webroot E-mail Security SaaS and Webroot’s successful merger with Email Systems, a leading provider of SaaS for email and web.

“The tools we offer as part of our partner program are a great motivator for our resellers. No other security provider offers these unique advantages, specifically our System X tool, which allows resellers to identify competitive opportunities in a powerful way,” said Mike Irwin, Webroot Chief Operating Officer.

The new Webroot Channel Edge Partner Program offers cost savings and convenience while also delivering an attractive package of benefits and value to resellers wishing to build a strong SaaS security revenue and annuity stream. The program was modeled after the UK program introduced by Email Systems prior to its merger with Webroot. That program recently won the UK Channel Reseller News Security Vendor of the Year in 2007 beating vendors such as Websense, Checkpoint and RSA.

According to Lawrence Taylor-Duncan, CTO, Techni-Core, “Techni-Core Network Services focus on the four critical areas of protection for every customer’s network: intrusion prevention; data protection; virus, spyware and spam defense and disaster recovery and business continuity planning. As a vendor, Webroot aligns with our strategies very well.

Their knowledge of competitor services, sales approaches, and their partner tools have surpassed any expectation we could have had. We are already working on our first customer opportunities together and expect the year ahead to be profitable for us both.”

Under the new program, resellers will be able to achieve one of three accreditation levels aligned closely with the previous programs to ensure easy and seamless transition of partners. The partnership levels (Associate, Authorised and Premium) are based on individual business needs as well as the number of trained sales and technical staff. Existing Webroot and Email Systems partners will be re-accredited under the new program. Partners who take advantage of the program will also receive the following:

• Access to a partner discount program
• Participation in lead generation/allocation
• Business development assistance
• Access to Not For Resale licenses and special pricing for in-house SaaS security services
• Access to an interactive partner portal – offering services such as System X
• Ability for partners to offer their own re-branded SaaS security services
• Free SaaS security training for all partner staff
• Certification opportunities
• A 100 percent dedicated channel policy around new and renewal business

Pete Sherwood, Director, Infosec Technologies in the United Kingdom, says, “The team at Webroot has always gone the extra mile to assist us in customer engagements and to ensure that we meet our customers’ needs in a timely fashion. Nothing we have asked has ever seemed too much trouble and we remain impressed with their total channel integrity.”
