Microsoft launches DRM system

Lets users share protected files accross multiple devices

Microsoft made an early bid for the limelight at the Mobile World Congress with the announcement of its Playready digital rights management (DRM) system.

Playready aims to make DRM more attractive to users, by allowing them to share protected files between multiple devices.

Microsoft said the system will work on mobile devices that are not running Windows. Mobile phone manufacturers Verizon and O2 have already signed up to the service, which should be available within the next few months.
