New Software Release Focuses on Microwave and Transmission Planning Enhancements

BARCELONA, SPAIN – Mentum announced today the release of its latest version of Mentum Ellipse software which includes a series of advanced features to assist in microwave and transmission planning. This marks the second major release of Mentum Ellipse since CTS Holdings purchased the Planet EV business and became Mentum in June 2007.

“Mentum Ellipse continues to be an important element in the Mentum product portfolio,” said Bernard Breton, head of sales and marketing, Mentum. “This new release builds on our leading wireless backhaul planning and optimization feature set and addresses the requests of our global customer base.”

The new features in Mentum Ellipse support a microwave engineer’s requirement for detailed analysis and accurate link planning. New features include the ability to define and change diversity antennae settings, support for diversity curves using the defined reflection plane and a series of improvements tied to propagation accuracy in different weather conditions. Mentum Ellipse 6.7 also supports the new ITU-R P.530-12 recommendation.

A series of features have also been added to the optional Transport Data Module which supports capacity and circuit inventory. In the new release it is possible to define active lists for rings, circuits and network elements. Furthermore, these items can be filtered to enable simpler display. The new Transport Data Module also supports Quality of Service analysis for circuits, with the results capable of being exported and printed in customizable spreadsheet templates.
