Continuous Computing Announces Mavenir Systems as First FlexTCA Fully-Integrated System Customer

Mavenir Selects FlexTCA for its mOne Mobile Convergence Platform to Accelerate Time-to-Money and Enable Organizational Focus on Application Development

MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS (BARCELONA) AND SAN DIEGO – Continuous Computing, global provider of integrated systems and services that enable telecom equipment manufacturers (TEMs) to rapidly deploy Next Generation Networks (NGN), today announced that Mavenir Systems, which offers pragmatic solutions for global service providers to bridge IP-based service delivery architectures with traditional mobile infrastructure, has selected Continuous Computing’s FlexTCA fully-integrated system for its mOneTM mobile convergence platform. In choosing Continuous Computing, Mavenir has recognized the time-to-market advantages gained by selecting a solution provider with complete carrier-grade systems expertise, including AdvancedTCA (ATCA) hardware platforms, Trillium software, and application implementation. An integrated system approach allows Mavenir to focus on the continued development of its Intelligent Convergence Engine (ICE) technology and enable a simpler, accelerated implementation than with in-house system design or integration.

“In order to drive overall revenue and profitability, network operators must improve the user experience with ubiquitous service delivery, mobility, and consistency across any communications environment including 2G, IMS, and Web 2.0 offerings,” said Pardeep Kohli, president and chief executive officer at Mavenir Systems. “Our mOne platform is specifically designed to meet these objectives, and we have chosen Continuous Computing’s FlexTCA fully-integrated system to help us offer a cost-effective, practical solution that can be implemented quickly and easily for our customers to improve their competitive positions.”

Mavenir empowers network providers by extending their core mobile services to include single number, multi-device voice and messaging over IP through networks such as fixed broadband, EVDO, UMTS, WiFi, and WiMAX. The platform’s IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Femtocell zone solutions, which offer fast time-to-market to deploy presence-enabled voice, instant messaging, mobility, and multimedia communication services, are currently enabled by Continuous Computing’s Trillium Diameter and SS7 protocol software. Mavenir chose to adopt FlexTCA as the enabling system for its mOne software platform in order to move seamlessly toward a more consolidated development process. Leveraging FlexTCA benefits can lead to up to a 50 percent increase in total program return on investment (ROI) over legacy systems for TEMs, according to Continuous Computing’s internal research.

“Continuous Computing’s strength is its distinctive ability to support customers with pre-integrated standards-based systems, Trillium software protocols, and application expertise,” said Mike Dagenais, president and chief executive officer at Continuous Computing. “Mavenir was an early adopter of the FlexTCA system technology and has recognized the business benefits of acquiring fully-integrated systems while focusing their own in-house resources on application development.”

Continuous Computing’s FlexTCA systems are the industry’s first family of fully-integrated systems for creating Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), security, and wireless core applications. FlexTCA offers unprecedented levels of Trillium software and ATCA hardware integration to alleviate today's network bandwidth challenges and meet time-to-market demands for TEMs. The product family leverages the company’s strong expertise and tenure in Trillium protocol software and telecom hardware architecture to deliver fully-integrated systems which exceed the value of any other alternatives currently available on the market.
