Bettercaring launches blog

Oxford, UK – Bettercaring, the UK’s leading care home search engine, has launched its own blog, to discuss the key issues around the elderly and the social care industry.

Outspoken, controversial and to the point, the Bettercaring blog aims to raise awareness of key issues, and tackle some of the pricklier topics in its own inimitable style.

Written by Bettercaring’s in-house team of journalists it provides up-to-date discussion on anything from household aids and adaptations to the latest Government legislation. It will also include first-hand accounts from journalists about the people interviewed for the stories that are featured on the site.

Bettercaring’s editor, Andrew Chilvers, said: “We all have opinions on the stories we read, or the legislation that comes out from the Government, and this blog is an effective way to encourage debate from our readership.

“We hear of stories on a weekly basis where the system has let people down, or when individuals in the industry have done something out-of the-ordinary. The blog gives us an opportunity to open up this discussion to a wider community, and allows our readership to share their experiences with us.”

Topics already covered on the blog include the cost of care homes, neglect, over 60s playgrounds and the struggles faced by carers juggling their familial responsibility with work.
