Your Google AdSense service may not be a part of your Google Account

Your Google AdSense service may not be a part of your Google Account eventhough the username and password are same for both.

Google recently clarified the issue with a login error message that some publishers experienced while logging into their AdSense account. According to the clarification, it is clear that eventhough you are using the same username and password as your Google Account to login to the Google Adsense service, your Google AdSense account might not be integrated with your Google Account.

If you remember, Google had acquired the technology behind AdSense with the acquisition of Applied Semantics in April 2003. Google had then kept the AdSense service out of Google Accounts. Over the period of time they have integrated most of these Google AdSense accounts with their corresponding Google Accounts. But there are still some of them left out of Google Accounts. If you happen to be among them, you would have definitely experienced the login problem. In such a case you will have to change your Google AdSense password so that the Google AdSense server does not mistakenly log you into Google AdSense using your main Google Account credentials, which does not have the AdSense service activated.
