Apple iPhone was launched last year and the company has already sold more than 4 million units worldwide.

Search engine giant Google has now said in a statement that the device is boosting mobile internet surfing in the countries where it is available on sale.

The search engine giant said that it received more traffic from iPhones this Christmas than from any other mobile device.

Apple iPhone is one of the few mobile devices which offer a fully functional web browser (Apple Safari). The phone is compatible with Wi-Fi and enables the user to surf using regular internet connection rather than mobile based services.

It is on sale in the US and some European nations currently. Apple is expected to introduce this device in the Asian markets this year.
