And Asos predicts sales increase of a further 42 per cent over Christmas

Online fashion retailer Asos has seen a surge in half-year profits from £300,000 to £2.4m.

The company’s revenues are up 83 per cent to £31.8m.

The increase in over the past nine weeks was prompted by the strong demand for Christmas dresses. And the firm expects further sales growth of 42 per cent during the festive season.

Asos currently has 1.6 registered users. It is the second most-visited online fashion retailer after its competitor Next, according to online marketing agency Hitwise.
