O2 plans indirect enterprise drive

Mobile operator O2 is looking to push deeper into enterprise accounts and is using the channel as its weapon of choice

The firm is set to launch the O2 Enterprise Centre of Excellence in January and is promising its partners sweeteners in the form of a dedicated business manager, pre- and post-sales support, dedicated bid support and access to marketing collateral.

David Plumb, head of indirect partners and business mobilisation at O2, said the firm is looking for resellers that have the scale and credibility to sell into large enterprise-type customers. Enterprise is categorised as having over 100 mobile handsets or 200-plus employees.

“This is about understanding a growing market and getting a joint value proposition with our partners,” he said. “This will be our third Centre of Excellence scheme, mainly because we are seeing more opportunity in the enterprise space as they swap more fixed line minutes into mobile. We are keen for partners to work with us.”

Stuart Baikie, managing director of O2 partner TTL, said “We are a Data Centre of Excellence partner and already match a lot of the criteria for the Enterprise Centre of Excellence scheme. We see immense value in something like this because it is a differentiation and adds to the message we are giving our customers.”
