System integrator and networking vendor complete installation of single infrastructure

Audiovisual (AV) system integrator AuDeo and IPTV networking vendor Exterity recently completed an installation of a single infrastructure network for brewer SABMiller’s new offices in just two days.

SABMiller’s prerequisite was a single infrastructure network to run all of its voice, data and AV. Traditionally, all AV is piped into a building using coaxial cabling, which is expensive to maintain, slow to deploy and cannot run off a single infrastructure network. When approached by SABMiller, AuDeo said it knew Exterity’s products would be ideal.

“All of the other network AV products were difficult to use and had heavy back-ends, whereas Exterity’s system is a simple ‘plug and play’ solution,” said Kevin Wilson, managing director of AuDeo.

The new system enables any media stored on the network to be streamed to eight meeting rooms; a four-screen product catwalk in the reception area; the atrium; the bar area; and the open areas of the building.

Colin Farquhar, chief executive of Exterity, said: “It was a different project for us. It had an element of digital signage in it. I’m currently defining a programme called Exterity IPTV Ready. This will ensure our equipment works with third-party equipment such as digital signage software.”
